Warner Bros. Starts Production Of DC’s Aquaman Movie
May 4, 2017 - DC, Movies,
Put on your respirator, Warner Bros. has started production of DC’s solo Aquaman movie. Celebrating the event, WB also released the official Aquaman logo. Sporting the iconic, yet updated trident icon on a sea of blue. So another Justice League of America member gets his own joint, I’m excite. This leaves Martian Manhunter as the only JLA member with no significant solo presence in TV or film.
Production will start in Australia and move to other locations around the world – many I’d love to visit. Locations include Queensland (Australia), Newfoundland, Sicily, and Tunisia. Director James Wan shared a photo from Village Roadshow Studios to mark the first day of filming. This apparently taken at the studios’ new Stage 9, the largest sound stage in the Southern Hemisphere.

The cast of Aquaman
Jason Momoa continues his role as The King of the Seven Seas and Amber Heard (as see in the tabloids) as Mera. The significant cast also features one Willem Dafoe (awesome) as Vulko, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta. Patrick Wilson from Girls will play as Orm/Ocean Master. By the way he was also in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, as the voice of POTUS. And if that was not enough we get the lovely Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna.
Aquaman is set to open in theaters on December 21st, 2018. Which is shaping up to be a big year for graphic novel inspired movies. Including Black Panther, New Mutants, Deadpool, and of course the first Infinity War.
