Alien Day 2017

Hey it was (well still is for most of us) Alien Day today. Here are few events and announcements that have gone down this April 26th. First off you might be asking why is it Alien Day? Mostly a promotion really for Alien: Covenant but it is based on the original film some 30 years ago. In Aliens, the 1986 sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 Alien, the film takes place on a moon that was know as LV-426 – or 4/26. Similar to Mass Effect day N7, November 7th.

Alien Day Events

The official movie site Alien Universe has launch several features, missions and a live stream today. Oh and tickets are now on sale.

Fox released a short 3 minute prolog to the film which is worth your time. Called The Crossing, it is “an official prologue short to Alien: Covenant, reveals what happened to crew members Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and the synthetic David after the events of Prometheus.” Set aboard an abandoned Engineer vessel, Dr. Shaw repairs David as they continue their search for humanity’s creators.

Alien Day Gear

Reebok announced the release of some collectible footwear called the Alien Stomper Final Battle pack. Inspired by the final battle from the Aliens movie and “answering the dreams of die-hard film fans and sneakerheads alike”, the Final Battle sneaker set (yes two pairs of shoes) draws inspiration from the loader duel between Ripley and the Xenomorph. The Queen Alien Stomper and the Powerloader will run you $325 if you can get your hands on them. (July 28th)

Collider has shown off some sweet Alien inspired creations from Mondo. Vinyl releases, t-shirts and more.
