Live-Action Masters of the Universe Feature Film

MotU like it's 1976 again.
Sony now has an end-game for the live-action Masters of the Universe feature film. Announced in 2014 as a work in progress the sci-fi story born from a cartoon world now has a release date. But sadly no director. According to Entertainment Weekly, rapper and director McG, (ok not a rapper) will not direct the non-animated He-Man. Best known for his work on Terminator: Salvation, the upcoming The Babysitter, and Charlie’s Angels, Sony is now looking for a replacement director.
Apparently the casting for the aforementioned He-Man has included some A-list talent, however no big names have been dropped as of now. One thing is for sure, David S. Goyer (Blade, Batman Begins, Man of Steel) is still on-board revising the script for the Masters of the Universe reboot.

In the meantime you might want to check out (or maybe not) the 1987 live action MotU. Staring none other than Dolph fucking Lundgren, He-Man battles against lord Skeletor and his armies of darkness for control of Castle Grayskull. People gave it a 5/10, which is probably being generous.
Masters of the Universe is a “media franchise” originally created by Mattel. The story revolves around the conflict between our superhero He-Man, and evil that is embodied in a skeleton aptly named Skeletor. Medieval fighting action goes down on the planet Eternia, with a vast array of supporting characters. Mainly Skeletor and his Evil Horde attack and He-Man defends. The franchise has spawned four animated television series, and the previously mentioned movie – among countless action figures, lunch boxes and general branded stuff.
The Live-Action Masters of the Universe film release date is December 18th, 2019
