Netflix German Produced Science Fiction Thriller “Dark”
March 6, 2017 - Netflix, Sci-fi, TV,
A page or two from Stranger Things and The OA...
Maybe because it’s all in German it’s more ominous, I’m not sure, but the upcoming Netflix thriller Dark looks pretty supernaturally interesting. Obviously channeling some elements from Stranger Things, the Dark sci-fi series is a hunt for missing children under bad pretenses. The missing person’s case looks very grim as four very worried and terrified families search frantically for some answers in the woods outside a small town. But it might not be where they are looking that is the trouble, maybe it’s when they are looking. Oh I like the element of time-shifting in this new tv series.
Visually dark from what we can preview in the trailer, the series looks more sinister than the sometimes light hearted Stranger Things. It was entirely produced and filmed in Germany, by Swiss director Baran bo Odar, who is also working upcoming Jamie Foxx thriller Sleepless by the way. Dark will arrive this fall, no word on its availability in the States, or if it will be translated to English. Apparently it will have subtitles tho.
The official synopsis Netflix Dark
