Destiny 2 Arrives In 2017
February 10, 2017 - Sci-fi, Video-Game,
The slide said “Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach… with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth.” And the crowd went wild. Yesterday Activision presented that big news and other plans for 2017 to investors. Destiny fans have been eagerly anticipating a sequel to the first-person shooter ever since it was announced last year. Destiny 2 has previously been rumored to not arrive until 2018 – so this was very good news.
Originally making its debut way back in 2014 there have been multiple updates to Destiny story including The Dark Below, House of Wolves, The Taken King, Rise of Iron, and just recently The Dawning.
While Activision would not specify which financial quarter the release would occur. The natives in and around the Tower have been getting restless wondering about the future of the game and just when a full sequel would arrive. Also on the minds of gamers is the status of their progress. Will Bungie do a full reset, or will all your loot and light levels be saved? No answer on that – yet.
It will have a “great cast of memorable, relatable characters” as well as a “cinematic storyline” said Activision. It will also be more accessible for “someone who wants a great, more casual first-person experience” and it will be going more international than ever before.
Bungie has traditionally been a fan of big E3 unveils, so look to June to get some hard answers about Destiny 2 before its release later this year.
