First Two Episodes Of Inhumans Tv Show Only In IMAX For Two Weeks

Marvel’s Inhumans TV show will premier late summer 2017 in a twist. Having slipped from motion picture status, the Inhumans story will now arrive as a made for TV joint. But you can still get the theatrical experience – for awhile. Marvel Television announced an innovative agreement to exclusively premiere the new ABC series Marvel’s The Inhumans in IMAX theatres. Noting in their press release this is the first time a live-action television series has debuted in this manner.

version of the first two episodes of The Inhumans filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras will run worldwide exclusively in IMAX for two weeks. This “version” will not be the same as what will air on ABC two weeks later, sometime at the beginning of September 2017. ABC plans to release the weekly series in fall, with “additional exclusive content” that can only be seen on the network. I find it interesting the exclusive content will be broadcast to everyone, for free. Not sure they understand the definition of exclusive?

The Inhumans Story

The Inhumans story is tightly interwoven in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. They are a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, that often lay dormant until an event forces them to manifest.  Created deliberately by the Kree thousands of years ago, no two Inhumans have identical powers. Since appearing in SHEILD and other media the story line has become more popular in Marvel lore.  Marvel’s The Inhumans Tv show is said to explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.

Marvel has said this “first-of-its-kind multi-platform production, provides audiences with high-quality, compelling entertainment options during what have traditionally been lulls in the summer blockbuster season. These IMAX audiences also tend to have high engagement and positive response to comic book fare.” I guess we will see if fans turn out to watch TV on a giant screen. No word on ticket costs for this opportunity yet.
